A short hike from my flat, Mount Eden, similar to Rangitoto is dominated by a volcanic peak also known as Maungawhau, with hiking trails leading to views over the Hauraki Gulf. This is the hill nearest to where we live so a few of us walked over and hiked up the other evening. Its a beautiful view and the main mountain it over looks is actually Rangitoto. The coolest part is the crater that is still visible on the inner part of the hill!
