This may have been my favorite destination yet and the second time around! The little beach town of Piha reminds me of Hull Massachusetts, a little slice of home. We camped out at Piha Surf Shop up the hill from the beach and spent the days on the black sand beach. Walked a few miles all the way down hoping to find some penguins, but unfortunately didn’t time it right so ended up with starfish instead which was actually pretty cool too! Ate the usual PB & J and the topped it off with delicious nachos at Little Murray beach hut! Ended the day watching the sunset on the Tasman Lookout where you could see the entire beach. First sunset I’ve seen while in New Zealand!! Great trip with some great friends! 10/10 🙂
