Adventures in Aus

Took a little study break in between the last week of classes and finals! Caught a flight over to Australia for the week to visit my friend studying at the University of Wollongong!! I got into Sydney on Saturday morning and she met me at the train station right in the city. We walked through the city all the way to the The Rocks (the harbour) where it overlooks the Sydney Opera House and also the Sydney Harbour Bridge which ended up having a light show/firework display later that night. We checked out the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Royal Botanic Garden, and Darling Harbour. The next day we did the Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach walk which was all along the coast and beautiful with some amazing weather too! We then spent the afternoon on the Coogee beach where we bought a watermelon and happily the whole thing basking in the sun. To follow that we took the train to Wollongong where she has been staying all semester. The next morning we headed to North Wollongong Beach where we spent most of the day and also walked around hitting the Flagstaff Point Lighthouse and the Breakwater Lighthouse too. The next day we went to the Nam Tien Temple which is the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. Following that we drove out to Minnamurra stopping at the Kiama Blow holes first where we spotting some whales right off the coast!! In Minnamurra, we went to the head land (James Oates Reserve) and ate dumplings while watching the sunset. So fun! That basically wrapped up our travels and then we packed up Rebecca’s whole entire life in Australia and I bid her farewell back home to the states. Until next time!
